Week 4 Fantasy Football Pickups
Blake Bortles QB - Jacksonville Jaguars
I know what you're thinking -- a rookie quarterback on an awful team, really? But remember, Bortles WAS the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. The dude can play. And it's because he's on a bad team that I like him.
The Jaguars haven't been able to run the ball well and they'll be down in a lot of games. They're going to have to throw. Bortles put up 223 yards and 2 TDs in one half of football this past week against the Colts -- good for 21 fantasy points (he also had 2 INTs). Again, that was one half.
I like him. Grab him now as your backup QB while you still can.

Brian Quick WR - St. Louis Rams
Some guy out of Southern Miss. is currently the starting QB in St. Louis, so I can't be too hyped up over any offensive player for the Rams right now. However, Quick appears to be the No. 1 guy in the offense, having caught 16 balls and averaging nearly 10 fantasy points per game over the first three weeks of the season.
If you need a fill-in at WR during a bye, Quick could put up some good numbers in out of division matchups.

Dwayne Allen TE - Indianapolis Colts
I had Allen on this list last week and since then he's only been added in 15 percent more leagues. Listen, he's obviously not the second-coming of Antonio Gates, but Allen is a legitimate go-to receiver for Andrew Luck on a good Colts team. He's a border-line TE1 and is as solid of a fill-in as they come during a bye week.
Allen has a TD in two of his first three games.

LeGarrette Blount RB - Pittsburgh Steelers
Blount obviously doesn't hold the sexiness he once did as a Buccaneer, but he's getting the ball quite a bit in a weakened Pittsburgh offense.
He had 118 yards and a TD on just 10 attempts last week against the Panthers and this week he has a beautiful matchup at home against a weak Tampa team. Buy now as a spot-starter.

Lorenzo Taliaferro RB - Baltimore Ravens
What the heck is happening in Baltimore? Of course they're surrounded by controversy, but because of this Ray Rice case , their running game is a mess right now as well. After his performance in week 3, Taliaferro could be the one to take advantage.
The rookie had 91 yards and a TD against the Browns Sunday and coach John Harbaugh gave him much praise. Of course this all came in light of Bernard Pierce sitting out. But Taliaferro needs to be picked up in all leagues, just in case he is the guy going forward. We'll probably find out this Sunday against Carolina. Expect a time share with Pierce, at the very least.
