The CW Orders Three More Scripts For ‘The Flash’

The Flash” has been one of The CW’s most heavily promoted shows this fall and the network clearly thinks that it has its next big hit. Today, The CW demonstrated just how confident they are about the show.

The CW has placed an order for three additional scripts of “The Flash” three weeks ahead of its premiere next month. This is in addition to the previous order of 13 episodes and it will allow “The Flash” writers to stay together ahead of an expected “back nine” order that would give “The Flash” 22 episodes in its first season.

Unless “The Flash” tanks in the ratings, the chances are very good that it will get at least a full season to audition for a second season on The CW. The connection to “Arrow” should help “The Flash” find an audience and both shows will crossover with each other during their respective upcoming seasons.

“Jane the Virgin” was also given a three episode script order, as The CW is reportedly high on that series as well.

“The Flash” will make its network debut on Tuesday, October 7.
