If recent rumors are true, insider information says that Marvel Studios is very close to signing Joaquin Phoenix as Doctor Strange. Some other contenders or hopefuls were Jon Hamm, Jack Huston, Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Quite the range of individuals possibly considered for a role that requires a specific personality.
For those of you who might not know about Marvel’s Doctor Strange character, he’s a former neurosurgeon who is self-proclaimed protector of Earth and “Sorcerer Supreme”.
