“Restoration Garage” is getting ready for another season in September on History Television – this season features an array of amazing cars, from both classic and modern to car races, demolition derbies, Formula One, and travel around the world for rare car parts… and a fly on the wall look behind the scenes of the restoration garage.
The Guild of Automotive Restorers, where David Grainger’s all-star team rebuilds the most beautiful, expensive, and coolest cars in the world, is one of the largest and most experienced antique and classic car restoration companies in North America, boasting well over 1,000 vehicle restorations. It’s all about shop floor drama, gas fueled egos, and millions of dollars at stake. Car restoration and customization is a multi-billion dollar industry worldwide, and everybody who brings their car to the Guild has the same dream, whether it’s a rare vintage Lancia, in for a complete restoration or a ’67 Chevy booked for “go faster” stripes. Check out a hand-built Alfa Romeo, an original Shelby Cobra, and King George’s custom-built limo, and Grainger’s crew turns them all into solid gold.
It’s not just about the cars. David cruises some of the world’s richest auctions, chases down a famous Italian car designer, gets the Royal treatment in London, and burns rubber in a Lotus. While the boss is away, the boys take a Rat Rod road trip to southern California, blow off steam in a Demolition Derby, and fight a heavy metal versus disco music war in the body shop – and the new shop manager nearly goes to pieces trying to keep it all together.
Tune in for an all-new season of “Restoration Garage,” which begins on Monday, September 8th at 9pm on History Television.
