Thirty year-old Tim Shaw was one of many well-known individuals, athletes, and celebrities that took to the internet to perform the ALS awareness ice bucket challenge.
However, what no one expected was to see Mr. Shaw reveal that he also has ALS, making his challenge that much more personal and moving.
The ice bucket challenge to raise awareness for ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease), a disorder in the nervous system that affects voluntary muscle movement, has succeeded in raising millions of dollars as people perform the challenge and then throw down the glove, asking three others to follow suit.
