This Summer on FX, the original programing schedule is more crowded than it has ever been before. Apparently, FX has its eye on Sunday nights in addition to its traditional Tuesday and Wednesday night drama slots.
FX has unveiled its summer premiere dates, and the biggest surprise is that Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan’s “The Strain” is infecting Sunday nights at 10pm beginning on July 13. This will be FX’s first Sunday night drama and it will be up against “The Leftovers” on HBO, Adapted by TV veteran Carlton Cuse, “The Strain” finds humanity under siege by a deadly vampire virus.
“Homeland” executive producer, Howard Gordon’s “Tyrant” is getting FX’s Tuesday night slot, starting on June 24. “Tyrant” follows the son of a dictator and his American family as they are reluctantly drawn into his father’s war-torn Middle Eastern country.
FX’s returning drama, “The Bridge” will remain on Wednesday nights beginning on July 9.
On the comedy front, “Wilfred” moves to FXX for its ten episode fourth and final season on Wednesday, June 25. FX is also running two original comedies on Thursday nights: “Married” and “You’re The Worst,” beginning on July 17.
