Yeah, we’re definitely on board with Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea playing an animated cat. The larger-than-life exuberance of the Chilis low-ender has lent his voice to the Disney cartoon “Sheriff Callie’s Wild West” for an episode titled “The Pie Thief”.
Flea is no stranger to non-musical work, having appeared in Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas, Back To The Future 2 and beyond. Now, as part of “first Western for preschoolers,” a cat Sheriff character sets out to enforce that all denizens of Nice and Friendly Corners adhere to the “Cowpoke Code”: fairness, honesty, hospitality, cooperation and hard work. Ok, nobody cares about plotlines for preschool TV shows. Let’s just watch the damn clip, shall we?
Flea’s appearance on “Sheriff Callie’s Wild West” will air Friday at 9 a.m. EST on Disney Junior. Got a little brother or sister? A kid of your own? then you won’t look at all weird tuning in. Even if you don’t have a kid in the vicinity, we won’t judge. It’s Flea, after all. Dude is always worth tuning in for – even if he’s messing up the National Anthem.
