The new Scotland away kit has been dubbed the “worst kit ever” by fans.
The newly revealed attire, which was inspired by the pink and yellow stripes of the “Lord Rosebery kit” worn by the international squad in both the 19th and 20th century, can be seen in the above promotional photo.
The original Lord Rosebery kit, named after the early patron of the Scottish Football Association and first president of London Scottish RFC, weas worn by Scotland in 1900 when they beat England 4-1 at Celtic Park for the British Championship.
However, Adidas’ reimagining of the classic kit hasn’t gone down well with fans, with a spokesperson for the West of Scotland Tartan Army admitting: “There’s mixed reviews of the strip and it has completely divided opinion.”
Satire site The Daily Mash offered the most humourous take on the new kit, writing: “As well as a pink and yellow hooped shirt and socks, Scottish players will also be issued with an anorak, a pair of thick-rimmed glasses held together with Sellotape, and a dream journal.”
