In disappointing news, the PS4’s wholly average launch platformer Knack has beaten the excellent Super Mario 3D World in the UK sales chart.
Knack, developed by Sony Japan Studio in cooperation with game director Mark Cerny, debuted in the chart at 13, ahead of Super Mario 3D World which placed at 14. Knack received a 4.5 in Crave Online’s review, while Super Mario 3D World was one of our most highly rated games of the year, receiving a 9.0 rating.
Its relatively low chart placing will be disappointing news for Nintendo, who anticipated that the fantastic game would be a system seller for the underperforming Wii U.
In more predictable news, the PS4 is the fastest-selling console ever in the UK, selling 250,000 units within its first 48 hours on sale.
