“The world needs bad men… We keep the other bad men from their door.” – Detective Rust Cohle
“Boardwalk Empire” is over for the year and “Game of Thrones” isn’t coming back until Spring 2014. In the meantime, HBO has a new drama series coming to Sunday nights that may help fill that void.
Nic Pizzolatto is bringing “True Detective” to HB0 with Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson headlining an impressive cast. McConaughey and Harrelson respectively play Rust Cohle and Martin Hart, a pair of police detectives in Louisiana who are assigned to investigate a bizarre series of murders in 1995.
The narrative of “True Detective” will take place over the course of 17 years as Cohle and Hart search for answers. And in the newest “True Detective” trailer from HBO, we’re offered a glimpse of how far both men have fallen in the intervening years.
“True Detective” will run for eight episodes beginning on Sunday, January 12 2014.
