Doctor Who 50TH Anniversary Special Live
When: Saturday, November 23 11am
Where: Room 104A
Why: Want to watch “Doctor Who: The Day of The Doctor” on a big screen alongside your fellow Whovians without spending the morning at a movie theater? The Long Beach Comic Con has you covered.
This screening isn’t in 3D, but you don’t have to choose between catching the Anniversary special or coming out to the con.

Spotlight on Amanda Conner
When: Saturday, November 23 12pm
Where: Room 102A
Why: Amanda Conner is one of the most influential comic book artists in the industry today and the co-writer of DC’s new Harley Quinn series.
In this panel, Conner will be taking questions from the audience as she talks about her career and her upcoming projects.

Voice Acting on Young Justice
When: Saturday, November 23 2pm
Where: Room 104A
Why: Although Cartoon Network only ran two seasons of “Young Justice,” it still has a strong fan following. For this year’s con, “Young Justice” executive producers Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman play host to several of the vocal performers from the series, including Thom Adcox, Cameron Bowen, Nick Chinlund, Nicole Dubuc, Crispin Freeman (“Red Arrow”), Kevin Grevious, Josh Keaton, Phil LaMarr, Stephanie Lemelin, Yuri Lowenthal, Jason Marsden, Vanessa Marshall and Jason Spisak.

Disney Afternoon
When: Saturday, November 23 2pm
Where: Room 102B
Why: Back in the mid ‘90s, Disney ruled weekday afternoons with the classic lineup of “Ducktales,” “Talespin,” “Chip n Dale: Rescue Rangers,” “Darkwing Duck,” “Gargoyles” and more!
For this Disney Afternoon reunion panel, Aaron Spar welcomes Greg Weisman (creator of “Gargoyles”), Bob Schooley (co-creator, Kim Possible”),Jymn Magon (co-creator “Chip n’ Dale Rescue Rangers” and the creator of “Talespin”), Rob Paulsen (“Darkwing Duck”) and Mark McCorkle (“Buzz Lightyear of Star Command”) as they share stories from the golden age of Disney TV!

The Truth Is Out There: Conspiracies, Ghosts & Aliens With Dean Haglund

Why: Former “X-Files” and “The Lone Gunmen” co-star, Dean Haglund hosts a panel that delves into his career and all things strange and unexplained as he weighs in on alien conspiracies and the Queen Mary hauntings.

Mark Waid Spotlight
When: Saturday, November 23 6pm
Where: Room 104A
Why: Mark Waid has pretty much done it all in comics, with runs on “Amazing Spider-Man,” “The Flash,” “X-Men,” “JLA” and several others over the course of an amazing career.
Currently Waid is finishing his acclaimed run on “Daredevil” while also writing “Indestructible Hulk” for Marvel and “Green Hornet” for Dynamite.
Waid’s Q&As are some of the best in the business as he doesn’t hold back in his opinions.

The Ultraverse 20th Anniversary
When: Sunday, November 24 11am
Where: Room 102C
Why: Shortly after Image broke out during the ‘90s, Malibu Comics tried its hand at creating a new superhero universe under the guidance of veteran writers including Gerard Jones, Len Strazewski, Steve Englehart, Steve Gerber, Chris Ulm, James Hudnall and Mike W. Barr and featured some of the first comic art by Terry Dodson!
For a while, the Ultraverse characters seemed to be catching on and it even spawned two TV shows. However, Marvel purchased Malibu in the late ‘90s and the characters have been buried for years.
This panel looks back at some of the behind-the-scenes stories from the era of the Ultraverse, from its successes to its failures.

Kickstarter Panel

Where: Room 103B/C
Why: Kickstarter has changed the game for both new comic creators and established creators as they attempt to raise money for their projects before completion.
For this panel, Jimmy Palmiotti leads the discussion on how to run a successful Kickstarter campaign while also offer advice on how to avoid potential problems.

These Are The Voyages: The Making of Star Trek: The Original Series
When: Sunday, November 24 2pm
Where: Room 104A
Why: “Star Trek” producer John D.F Black, Mark Cushman and Mary Black lead a discussion about the classic sci-fi TV series that launched the “Star Trek” franchise as they take questions about the earliest voyages of Kirk, Spock and the rest of the Enterprise crew.

Where: The Laugh Factory
Why: The long running group of fanboy comedians headline a special show in The Laugh Factory across the street from the Long Beach Comic Con.
Tom Franck, Tim Powers, Ed Greer, Eric Schwartz, Maronzio Vance, Joe Starr, Ron Swallow and former CraveOnline comedy editor, Sax Carr are taking their act to a new level. If you love stand-up comedy and all things geeky, then you can’t miss this show.
