It’s the biggest “get” yet for CraveOnstage and the CO2 Lounge! Reps for former House of Pain frontman and rock iconoclast Everlast approached Crave about being our August Band of the Month artist…and we were only too happy to say yes. In a crackling live session, the “What It’s Like” star laid down a stellar set, then gave a pretty incendiary interview that you’ve got to see. Everlast’s peeps loved our coverage so much that they also gave us the exclusive live stream of Everlast’s new album before it was released — only for CraveOnline readers. More and more lately, it isn’t Crave reaching out to hot bands — it’s hot bands liking what Crave is doing and reaching out to us. Nice…

Our pals at Fox hooked Crave up again. Much like they picked up one of our Simpsons articles in June, our Television Critics Association press event coverage on the new upcoming “24” miniseries got linked on the 24 Facebook page. Turns out people are more than a little curious about Jack Bauer’s latest really bad day…and that send more than 32,000 Facebook likes and thousands of page views our way.

No, the 2013 events didn’t stop once we all packed away our Comic-Con badges for the year. August brought the double-barreled music blast of Chicago’s Lollapalooza, followed closely by San Francisco’s Outside Lands. And on the gaming front, we covered all the goings-on in Germany at the mighty Gamescom gathering, then scurried up to Seattle for PAX Prime. A lot of hours and a lot of frequent flier miles…but a lot of great coverage as well.

100 Happy CraveOnline Contest Winners
Back in January at the Sundance Film Festival, Crave critic Fred Topel had great things to say about the premiere screening of Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s directorial debut Don Jon. Now that the film’s being released, distributor Relativity wanted to thank Crave for our support — with an early screening of the movie at L.A.’s Landmark Theater Aug. 24 for 100 lucky CraveOnline contest winners! The movie was great, Relativity loved our turnout and wants to hold more screenings with us in the future — and we even had the courtesy to thank JGL for letting us check out his fine film.
