The Xbox One will come with a free copy of FIFA 14 for those who pre-order the upcoming console in Europe.
Microsoft made the announcement during today’s Xbox event at Gamescom in Cologne. This is a huge coup for the company, as FIFA is the second best-selling gaming series in the European market, right behind Call of Duty. All existing pre-orders for the Xbox One will also contain a free copy of the game.
While the Xbox One will be significantly more expensive than Sony’s PlayStation 4 in Europe, priced at £429/499 euros compared to the PS4’s £349/399 euros, free games are always alluring and this announcement, coupled with the exclusive FIFA 14 features Microsoft has announced such as Ultimate Team Legends, will likely tempt many football fans over to the Xbox One camp.
