During the midseason finale of “Breaking Bad” Season 5, Hank Schrader finally realized that his brother-in-law, Walter White (Bryan Cranston) was the infamous Heisenberg whom Hank has pursued throughout the series. And Hank is not about to let Walt get away with it.
Hank’s portrayer, Dean Norris dropped a few hints about the final eight episodes of “Breaking Bad” on Entertainment Weekly’s InsideTV podcast. Norris teased that “there’s going to be a big Walt-Hank showdown… Obviously now that Hank is on to it, he needs to deal with that situation. It’s like a freight train, man.”
“These eight episodes, I think, are possibly the best eight in the whole series,” continued Norris. “And that’s saying a lot because it’s a great series. They just power right through.”
The end of Walt’s story was briefly glimpsed during the fifth season premiere, in which Walt had changed his appearance and was traveling under an assumed name while buying a machine gun. Norris also commented about shooting several scenes outside of the traditional Albuquerque setting; which may play into that.
“We got to spend a lot of the last couple of episodes filming in kind of an out of the way place,” noted Norris. “So we all stayed in the same hotel and had dinner after dinner and reminisced about where we were when the show started and where it is now. It was really tough to say goodbye.”
