Xbox One 10X More Powerful Than Xbox 360, More with Cloud

Perhaps it was little more than marketing hyperbole, but Phil Spencer, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Studios, has given a clue concerning the power of the Xbox One.

In a tweet exchange with a fan, Spencer indicated that the Xbox One is actually 10 times more powerful than the Xbox 360. Even further, Spencer suggested that the Cloud capabilities of the Xbox One’s network would drive it to even greater heights. Here’s the tweet from Spencer to the fan in regards to the power of the upcoming system:

If I were a big wig at Microsoft, I’d be using this power argument to drive home the connected requirements. I don’t really think online gaming is a bastion for consumer good will; however, saying that Cloud gaming will make a system even more powerful than its physical hardware is enough to make certain groups of gamers quite happy.

I’d rather the power stays offline, but still, it’s an interesting selling point for the console.

The Xbox One will release this holiday for $499. Who’s interested in picking one up?
