The new show “Package Deal,” which airs on Citytv and is a distinctly Canadian production, has announced plans to have renowned Canuck comedian Eugene Levy appear on the series.
Hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, Levy, who is best-known for his work on the “American Pie” movie franchise as well as “Goon,” “SCTV,” and “Just For Laughs,” is scheduled to appear on three episodes of the new comedy show.
“We are excited to welcome accomplished performer and comedy legend Eugene Levy to the cast of ‘Package Deal,’” said Claire Freeland, Director of Original Programming at Rogers Media in an official press release. “He will undoubtedly delight Canadian audiences with his unique sense of humour and charm.”
“Package Deal” is a new series by writer Andrew Orenstein that follows three dysfunctionally close brothers and the woman who comes between them. It stars Randal Edwards (“Degrassi: The Next Generation,” “The Killing”), Julia Voth (“Bitch Slap”), Harland Williams (“There’s Something About Mary”), and Jay Malone (“Monk”). It is currently in production in Burnaby, BC, and is filmed in front of a live audience.
“’Package Deal’ is already creating a buzz with its stellar cast, and we’re excited to have another performer as respected as Eugene Levy join the production,” said Michael Shepard, President of Thunderbird Films, who are behind the show.
