After leaving Days of Our Lives, Billy Flynn will soon appear on The Young and the Restless later this spring.
In his interview with TV Insider, the actor opened up on his exit from the series after a decade-long stint. He stated, “I am grateful for my years at DAYS; it changed my life in the best ways, “I’ve always said these stories we tell are like doing a play, and I’ve spent the last 10-plus years playing this amazing character and telling one of the all-time great love stories. And now, I’m excited for this opportunity and to test myself in a new way.”
Additionally, Days of Our Lives executive producer Ken Corday sent his best wishes for Flynn’s new opportunity. He also confirmed that due to the show’s unique shooting schedule, which is months ahead of the episodes’ airing dates, the actor will be seen on DOOL till 2026.
Flynn further elaborated on his reason for moving on to the CBS series in an interview with Variety. “I think with this character, I’ve done everything I can with it. I’m looking forward to doing something new. I’m about to start a new journey and tell another story. It really is just that simple,” he stated.
For the unaware, Billy Flynn joined DOOL in 2014, replacing Casey Dedrick. Fans became instantly hooked on his portrayal of Chad DiMera, especially the character’s romantic relationship with Abigail Deveraux. After numerous complications, the two rekindle their romance, becoming one of the most loved couples in the series.
