The 38-year-old British heartthrob recently appeared for a GQ interview to promote his new movie, Mickey 17. The Twilight actor shared how he has grown “sensitive” around horror movies at a later age.
An honest Pattinson told viewers, “I used to watch a lot of dark stuff when I was younger and think ‘yeah, this is cool. ’ And now, I’m too sensitive. It’s strange, you’d think it would go the other way round. As you get older, you become less frightened of these. I can’t watch horror movies anymore.”
Pattinson also recalled a recent incident where watching a horror film made him constantly feel like someone was breaking in his house. The actor explained, “I did get very frightened. I had to do a meeting with the director, and he’d done this horror movie, and I watched it, and I kept thinking that someone was breaking into my house.”
His new-found fear made him grab “two kitchen knives,” so that he could “wait” for the person to come in. Pattinson added, “And then I fell asleep with them basically in my neck on the couch. It was probably a squirrel.”
Pattinson also revealed his girlfriend, Suki Waterhouse’s confusion, at the actor sleeping with two knives around his “neck.” The Twilight alum continued, “My girlfriend came in, and she was like, What is happening? Why do you have two knives in your face and you are sleeping?” Pattinson’s love-hate relationship with horror movies resonated with social media users, as many dubbed him the perfect version of “Gen Z Batman.”
