Millie Bobby Brown Hits Back at Bullies in Viral Video

Millie Bobby Brown did not hold back from naming and shaming the “bullying” media in her new video. The British actor addressed the online chatter about her looks after she recently walked red carpets at recent events.

She took to Instagram and shared a candid video to address the recent shaming remarks about her appearance. The 21-year-old highlighted the issue that has affected “every young woman who grows up under public scrutiny.” Brown recalled that she started working in the industry when she was 10. While the actor grew up in the public eye, she claimed that “people can’t seem to grow” up with her.

Brown shared that people have continued to expect her to still look like she did in the first season of “Stranger Things.” She said, “And because I don’t, I’m now a target.” The star then read out the problematic titles of certain articles published while she was on her press tour. Moreover, she even named the writers “who are so desperate to tear young women down.”

Millie Bobby Brown confronts those age-shaming her in powerful video

In her latest Instagram post, Millie Bobby Brown slammed the media who have age-shamed her in some of the recent articles. Among the list were ‘Why are Gen Zers like Millie Bobby Brown ageing so badly?’ by Lydia Hawken, ‘What has Millie Bobby Brown done to her face?’ by John Ely, and ‘Millie Bobby Brown mistaken for someone’s mom as she guides younger sister Ava through LA’ by Cassie Carpenter.

Another headline mentioned was ‘Little Britain’s Matt Lucas takes savage swipe at Millie Bobby Brown’s new “mommy makeover” look’ by Bethan Edwards. The actor added that the headline was amplified as “an insult rather than questioning why a grown man is mocking a young woman’s appearance.” Brown stated, “This isn’t journalism. This is bullying.”

The actor further noted how “it’s disturbing” that “adult writers” spent their time “dissecting” her face, body, and choices. Brown called it “even worse” that some were written by women. She slammed people for tearing young women down “for clicks” instead of “supporting and uplifting” them.

Brown also called out “disillusioned people” who “can’t handle seeing a girl become a woman on her terms, not theirs.” She then said she refuses to “apologize for growing up” and make herself “smaller to fit the unrealistic expectations of people who can’t handle seeing a girl become a woman.” Brown declared she will not be shamed for how she looks, dresses, or presents herself.

Following that, Millie Bobby Brown highlighted that it has become easier for society to “say something horrible” instead of simply paying a compliment. She further urged people to “do better.” Before ending the video, Brown asserted, “Not just for me, but for every young girl who deserves to grow up without fear of being torn apart for simply existing.”
