Report: Thunderbolts*’ Runtime Is Almost as Long as Avengers 1 & 2

The reported runtime of the upcoming film Thunderbolts* has been revealed, making it one of the longest movies for Marvel Studios. Starring Sebastian Stan and Florence Pugh, the movie will release in theaters across the world on May 2, 2025. It will bring together Marvel Cinematic Universe’s known anti-heroes in a chaotic alliance for a fatal mission. Given how long Thunderbolts* apparently is, it has reportedly become one of Marvel’s top 10 longest movies.

Thunderbolts* is among Marvel’s longest MCU movies

The runtime of Thunderbolts* stands at 2 hours and 20 minutes. However, no official statement from Marvel Studios has been made regarding the same.

Based on the runtime stated on the official site of Odeon Cinemas, the Jake Schreier directorial will become the 10th longest movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, surpassing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. The latter’s duration stood 2 hours and 16 minutes, four minutes shorter than the reported runtime of Thunderbolts*.

The runtime stated by Odeon also brings Thunderbolts* close to the second Avengers movie, Avengers: Age of Ultron, which was 2 hours and 21 minutes long.

Here is a list of the top 10 Marvel movies having the longest runtime:

  • Avengers: Endgame – 3 hours and 1 minute
  • Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – 2 hours and 41 minutes

  • Thunderbolts* – 2 hours and 20 minutes (based on reported runtime, and yet to be released)

According to another listing by Odeon Cinemas, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps could also have a runtime of 2 hours and 20 minutes. However, there is no confirmation yet, as the movie is coming in July.
