Charli D’Amelio and Joe Ando dropped a video on Instagram to share a look inside the making of the dress made out of synthetic hair. The 20-year-old, who was recently unveiled as one of the “newest Head of CeraVe,” wore the unique piece by the YouTube personality. Ando, a popular influencer, has previously made dresses for several popular faces, including Dakota Johnson, Anna Cathcart, Ella Emhoff, and more.

After making the new unconventional piece, Ando joked in the Instagram Reel’s caption that he “quit dresses to become a hairdresser” for D’Amelio. Like the previous outfit videos, this one, too, opened with the digital creator asking, “Can I make you a dress?” D’Amelio replied, “I would love that.” The duo then complemented each other’s hair before Ando said, “I got it from you,” referring to the wig.

Ando continued to share a detailed look at the making of the dress in the video. While assembling the piece, the designer noted, “It’s gonna take about 100 hours and 15 bundles of synthetic hair.” The following clips showed Ando stitching and putting the dress together. Later, D’Amelio entered the frame wearing the eccentric piece. The dress featured a halter sweetheart neckline, along with a corset-like bodice. It further included several fringes of hair forming an ankle-length flared skirt.

Later, D’Amelio told Ando she loved the dress but added, “I was kinda thinking it was gonna be the same length as my bob.” The latter then measured the TikTok personality’s hair and proceeded to cut the skirt with scissors. The final shortened look came up as a black minidress. D’Amelio exclaimed, “It is perfect,” and flaunted the look.
