Patrick Mahomes has nothing but praise for his Kansas City Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce’s longtime girlfriend, Taylor Swift. The duo has established an endearing bond recently, with Swift also sharing a lasting friendship with Mahomes’ wife, Brittany. Now, the seasoned quarterback has lauded the pop star for her talent and global influence during a routine Chiefs press conference.
Here’s what Patrick Mahomes said about Taylor Swift.
Patrick Mahomes praises Taylor Swift at Chiefs interview
While addressing reporters in a recent press briefing, Mahomes was asked to choose between his scoring ability, Taylor Swift’s singing ability, or Steph Curry’s shooting ability. Without hesitation, the three-time Super Bowl winner responded, “Taylor Swift’s singing ability. It’s not even close.”
The journalists present then emphasized Mahomes’ exceptional throwing skills, stating, “What about that arm though?” in hopes of extracting an updated answer from the NFL veteran. Nevertheless, Mahomes decided to back Swift for the second time, noting, “I mean, the arm’s awesome, but, I mean, I’m not inspiring billions and millions of people.”
The reporters then shifted their focus to NBA legend Steph Curry and inquired about Mahomes’ opinions regarding “the greatest shooter of all time.” Once again, Mahomes reiterated his respect for Travis Kelce’s girlfriend, stating, “I mean, I love Steph, man, he’s the greatest shooter of all time, but he’s not Taylor Swift.”
Mahomes’ positive remarks regarding Taylor Swift come just days after the 14-time Grammy winner accredited the former’s wife for helping her stay calm before the Chiefs’ AFC Championship game against the Buffalo Bills. Despite Swift’s concerns, Travis Kelce and his teammates won the clash by a competitive scoreline of 32-29.
Andy Reid’s men will now take on the Philadelphia Eagles on February 9, hoping to become the first team in NFL history to record three consecutive Super Bowl titles.
