SZA to perform with Kendrick Lamar at Super Bowl halftime
Kendrick Lamar is gearing up for an unforgettable Super Bowl halftime performance in 2025, and he is set to be joined by R&B sensation SZA. The Grammy-winning rapper announced the exciting news through a teaser trailer released on January 23, where he’s seen walking onto a football field while on the phone. The trailer takes a playful turn when SZA sneaks up behind him and pours a bucket of Gatorade over him. The trailer has quickly gone viral and promises an exciting collaboration between the two artists. The highly-anticipated performance in New Orleans is set for February 9, 2025.
Kendrick and SZA have a long history of successful collaborations. This included their hit song “All the Stars” from the Black Panther soundtrack. Their chemistry in the studio and on stage has been widely praised. SZA was previously signed to the same label as Kendrick under Top Dawg Entertainment. She has also been vocal about their creative bond. During her appearance on Sherri on January 8, SZA revealed her excitement about working with Lamar on a full-length collaborative album. She said, “I would love that. I think that would be amazing. He’s such a genius. And a part of his genius is him being so elusive and so mysterious. And I love it.”
In addition to their Super Bowl performance, the two artists will embark on the North American leg of their Grand National Tour starting in April 2025. This will mark their first time touring together since the 2018 Championship Tour.
