Justin Baldoni & Blake Lively’s ‘It Ends With Us’ Set Clip Explained

Justin Baldoni is at the center of a legal battle after releasing footage from the set of It Ends With Us to counter harassment allegations by co-star Blake Lively. The controversy stems from a slow-dance scene where the actress claims his behavior crossed professional boundaries.

Here’s what the footage shows, the arguments from both sides and what this means for the ongoing dispute.

Justin Baldoni releases It Ends With Us set video amid Blake Lively case

Justin Baldoni’s legal team released footage from the set of It Ends With Us on January 21, 2025.

The video aims to counter harassment allegations made by Baldoni’s co-star Blake Lively. Earlier this month, she filed a lawsuit accusing him of inappropriate behavior during a slow-dance scene. Lively claimed he “leaned in, dragged his lips down her neck, and commented on her scent.” Moreover, she described his actions as unprofessional and unwelcome.

The footage includes three takes of the scene in question. Baldoni’s team claims these show both actors acting professionally and staying within the scope of their roles. Additionally, a title card in the video states, “Both actors are clearly behaving well within the scope of the scene and with mutual respect and professionalism.” (via Daily Mail).

Meanwhile, Lively’s team has disagreed, arguing the video supports her claims, as per The Hollywood Reporter. They reportedly highlight her visible discomfort and interpret her lighthearted remarks as attempts to deflect Baldoni’s actions. In the clips, he nuzzles Lively’s neck and remarks on her scent, saying, “It smells good,” after she jokes about getting spray tan on him.

Blake Lively’s lawsuit alleges this interaction was unscripted, done without prior discussion, and lacked the presence of an intimacy coordinator. Her complaint also claims Justin Baldoni dismissed her objections, stating, “I’m not even attracted to you.” On the other hand, the Five Feet Apart director has countersued, alleging that Lively was difficult to direct and broke character during filming.

However, the Age of Adaline actress’ team criticized the release of the footage, calling it a “stunt” and “an unethical attempt to manipulate the public.” The legal dispute continues as of writing, with both Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively’s sides presenting differing interpretations of the released footage and its implications for their respective claims.
