Gwyneth Paltrow writes crushing note about LA fires: ‘There is so much we cannot measure’

Gwyneth Paltrow shared an emotional note about the LA fires through Goop’s Thursday newsletter. She acknowledged that the loss from the destruction has been more than what the current statistics reveal. She said, “There is so much we cannot measure.” The actor noted how the Pacific Palisades and Altadena neighborhoods — two areas affected the most by the disaster — offer a sense of belongingness. Paltrow stated that they are witnesses to “people who made it a home.”

Although heartbroken over the devastation, Paltrow shared that tough times like these showed the spirit of Angelenos. She proceeded to give a shoutout to first responders who risked their lives to save people and their homes. The actor also thanked local journalists for braving the fires to report on the issue along with neighbors, businesses, artists, and the real estate community for stepping up in time of need.

By the end of the note, Paltrow revealed that she and her brand, Goop, are committing to “more than $2 million worth of donations of products to charitable organizations.” These include Baby2Baby, Altadena Girls, and other local charities. The entrepreneur also announced the distribution of beauty and skincare care packages to Goop clients impacted by the LA fires. Paltrow finally expressed her gratitude to Goop’s chef, Kim Floresca, who helped serve over 800 meals to first responders working tirelessly to contain the fires. She ended the note saying, “Los Angeles, I love you.”

Meanwhile, Gwyneth Paltrow joins many celebrities who have come forward with donations, volunteering efforts, or creating awareness. More recently, Hailey Bieber, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Leonardo DiCaprio, and others have made significant contributions.
