Jimmy Kimmel gave an emotional speech about the destructive LA fire that impacted many people’s lives in the latest episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!.” The show’s host expressed, “As you know, it has been a very scary, very stressful, very strange week here in LA, where we work, where we live, where our kids go to school.” He continued, “We are back at our studio, which we had to evacuate on Wednesday.” He further said, “Many of us had to leave our homes in a hurry. Some of our co-workers lost their homes… It’s been terrible.”
After that, Kimmel went on to talk about how no one knows whether the horrifying situation is over or far from over as the strong winds continue to fuel “this nightmare.” The host then acknowledged how people from the community have been coming forward to help each other during this tough time. “I think I speak for all of us when I say it has been a sickening, shocking awful experience. But it has also been in a lot of ways a beautiful experience because once again we see our fellow men and women coming together to support each other,” he explained.
During his opening monologue, Jimmy Kimmel also paid tribute to the firefighters who have been working tirelessly to bring the devastating fire under control and better the situation. The host said, “Our firefighters from LA were the first on the scene. Without hesitation, they are out there putting out the fires as best they could and then we had firefighters from other states coming in… Very grateful to them.”
