Instagram user Nicole Tittmann posted the viral video of a family singing around the ruins from the LA fire. They captioned the clip, “At the smoldering remains of their home, surrounded by friends and family. I am humbled by their example of faith and love and trust. God bless the Halpin’s.” In reply to one of the comments, Tittmann revealed the people in the video are Peter and Jackie Halpin, a couple who lost their home due to the wildfires.
The video has amassed over 2.4 million views on the platform at the time of writing. Meanwhile, the comments section of the Instagram Reel is filled with users sharing kind words and writing in support of the family. Besides that, one of the couple’s kids, Pete Halpin, has created a GoFundMe page for their parents, Peter and Jackie, their sister, Gianna, and her daughter, Beatrice. The organizer notes they all lost their home in Altadena on January 7 due to the Eaton fire.
Meanwhile, the firefighters continue to work on the containment of the multiple wildfires. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection notes the Palisades fire is 13% contained after burning 23,713 acres. On the other hand, the Eaton fire stands at 27% containment after affecting 14,117 acres. The Hurst fire is 95% contained after burning 799 acres.
