Squid Game Season 2: Why Fans Think Player 100 Is a VIP

Squid Game Season 2 continues to ignite conversations on social media. Recently, fans have been speculating about the absence of the group of VIPs in the new season. In the midst of these discussions, viewers have started to connect the identity of Im Jeong-dae, also known as Player 100, with this eccentric group. So, is Player 100 a VIP in Squid Game Season 2?

Here is everything you need to about the latest speculation surrounding the character in the series.

Is Squid Game Season 2’s Player 100 a VIP?

As of now, it is not confirmed whether Player 100 is a VIP in Squid Game Season 2 or not.

As fans are aware, VIPs first appeared in the first season of the series. They are a group of mask-wearing wealthy personalities who place their bets on players in the game. The sole purpose of these bets is entertainment for them. However, this group did not appear in Season 2 leaving fans surprised and confused.

Things took an interesting turn recently when fans began suspecting Player 100 to be one of the VIPs. He is an old man and a secondary villain in the series who is arrogant, and hot-headed which is similar to the attitude of the VIPS. While most of the people including the Front Man under Player 001’s disguise wish to end the games for good, Player 100 serves as a foil character. He is adamant about the continuation of the games so that he can keep making money.

Additionally, the player holds a debt of 10 billion won which is almost 7 million dollars. This further increased fan’s suspicions as no ordinary person can plunge into such a huge debt. As a result, many started believing that he might be one of the VIPS who spent huge amounts of money on bets. He might have lost all the money thus landing in debt and now must be participating in the games to recover them. On the other hand, he became a part of the game for entertainment which is the central trait of a VIP.

If Player 100 actually turns out to be a VIP, it means there are more problems ahead for Gi-hun in the upcoming season. Nevertheless, fans need to wait for Squid Game Season 3 for this theory to turn true.
