Here’s How Scarlett Johansson Reacted to Colin Jost’s SNL Jokes

Saturday Night Live (SNL) writer Colin Jost recently made some inappropriate jokes about his wife Scarlett Johansson on Weekend Update, a show he co-anchors with Michael Che. Accordingly, fans are wondering how Johansson reacted to Jost’s jokes.

Here is how Scarlett Johansson reacted to Colin Jost’s dirty jokes about her in the latest SNL Weekend Update episode.

Scarlett Johansson reaction to Colin Jost’s joke explained

Colin Jost made three dirty and inappropriate jokes about Scarlett Johansson and their marriage in the latest SNL Weekend Update episode.

In the episode, Jost expressed his intention to dedicate his first joke to the Black Widow actress. “Hey boo. Y’all know Scarlett just celebrated her 40th birthday, which means I’m about to get up out of there,” he said. To this, Johansson laughed in confusion. Jost was then shown laughing before the camera cut to Johansson, who was at a loss for words.

Jost then joked about how viewers didn’t see pictures of his and Johansson’s son Cosmo, whom they welcomed in 2021, because “he black as hell,” showing a photoshopped image of him and Johansson holding a black child. The video then cuts to Johansson sipping her drink and turning her head in embarrassment.

Jost’s next joke about Johansson was said towards the end of the segment when he addressed Costco removing roast beef sandwiches from its menu. Here, he said, “But I ain’t trippin, I’ve been eating roast beef every night since my wife had the kid.” This elicited a baffled response from Johansson who said, “Oh my god, holy s**t.” “No no, I’m just playin baby. You know I don’t go downtown,” he added.

Jost has previously made jokes about Johansson on SNL, in part due to Michael Che tricking him into doing so. In a December 2020 episode, Jost joked that Johansson would play Sammy Davis Jr. in a movie, referencing the actor’s past controversy of whitewashing, namely playing Japanese character Motoko Kusanagi in the live-action adaptation of the anime/manga Ghost in the Shell.

Johansson once expressed her reaction to Jost and Che’s segments where they joked about her in an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, joking she had “blacked out” during one rendition.
