David Murphey, who appeared in the fourth season of 90 Day Fiancé, has passed away at the age of 66. The TV personality’s stint on the TLC show made him quite popular among reality show watchers. The announcement of David Murphey’s death was made by his family. Here is what his family said.
David Murphey has died at 66
According to People Magazine, 90 Day Fiancé star David Murphey’s death was confirmed on December 18 in a lengthy Instagram post by his family. In the statement, Murphey’s family confirmed that the TV star was dealing with “health issues over the last several years” which led to his death.
On Murphey’s official account on Instagram, his family also posted a photo of the star and wrote, “We are deeply saddened to announce that David Murphey, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away at home on December 11, 2024.” They added that Murphey was 66 years old at the time of his death.
The family revealed that following his death, David Murphey is “survived by his two sisters and his cat Gamera.”
Murphey spoke about his health struggles in an Instagram live he did in March 2023. He revealed at that time, “I’ve been ill, basically. I’ve been in and out of the hospital for the last, almost three months, I’ve been having some problems. They don’t know what it is. My liver’s not working right.” Murphey also stated that doctors tested him for hepatitis at that time but the reports were negative.
He detailed more of what he was experiencing and added that his “gallbladder has to come out but they can’t do that because my liver’s not working.” Additionally, he was facing problems with his pancreas and kidneys.
