Want to know whether Virgin River Season 7 is on the horizon? Has the series been canceled or renewed? The show follows Melinda “Mel” Monroe, who wants to leave behind her painful past and decides to start a new chapter in his life. However, she faces challenges she never expected while kickstarting her new life. With the Season 6 finale premiering recently, fans of the series are curious to know whether it will be renewed.
Here are all the details.
Has Virgin River been canceled or renewed for Season 2?
Netflix has renewed Virgin River for Season 7.
In a recent conversation with Tudum, showrunner Patrick Sean Smith confirms that a Virgin River Season 7 is happening. He believes there is still more exploration with his established characters. Moreover, he details that the new season will explore Mel and Jack’s story as a married couple. It will primarily showcase their honeymoon phase, wherein they will “rebuild their lives” and experience some challenges.
He assured the viewers not to worry too much about the couple’s relationship crumbling. This is because they aren’t planning to split them apart, but it would make them face some obstacles in their relationship. He explained, “It forces you to dig a little bit deeper into, well, what other issues can they have in their relationship? Especially when you want to keep it through the romance lens. I think Alex and Martin play all of those [moments so well], it’s just resting on emotional stakes as opposed to will they, won’t they.”
Virgin River Season 6 Episode 10, titled ‘The Big Day,’ features Mel and Jack officially getting married and being graced by adoption news by Marley. She reveals that Phil and Darla, who were supposed to adopt her newborn baby, have backed out. Therefore, she requests the newly married couple to take her baby, which surprises them as they didn’t plan parenthood this early.
The series’ ending leaves viewers on a cliffhanger. Jack visits Charmaine to check up on her as she didn’t show up at the wedding to do Mel’s hair. Upon visiting, he sees a scattered house and hears a music box sound, leading him to the nursery. In the end, he gives a startling reaction, indicating that something terrible has happened to Charmaine or the kids.
