Dune: Prophecy Cameos: Who Do Game of Thrones’ Mark Addy & Archie Barnes Play?

In Dune: Prophecy Episode 3, two Game of Thrones universe alums debuted in the Dune franchise. Mark Addy portrayed Robert Baratheon in the inaugural season of Game of Thrones, whereas Archie Barnes appeared as Oscar Tully in House of the Dragon Season 2. After seeing these familiar faces, fans want to know what characters they play in Dune: Prophecy.

Mark Addy’s Dune: Prophecy character explained

Mark Addy plays Evgeny Harkonnen, an older member of Valya and Tula’s family. When he is introduced, the viewers can glean that this man has seen the glory days of his family and its eventual fall. Surprisingly, he doesn’t seem to share the hostility his nieces harbor toward the Atreides family and has effectively accepted what has happened to the Harkonnen.

Toward the end of the episode, we see Evgeny again when Valya visits him in an imposing tower. He is much older and in worse health this time around. It is implied that the family has profited from Valya and Tula’s positions in the Bene Gesserit Order. There are signs of wealth and prosperity all around Valya and Evgeny, denoting that the family’s fortune has drastically changed in the intermediate years.

Archie Barnes’ Dune: Prophecy character explained

Archie Barnes plays Albert, a member of the Atreides family. Tula meets him and other members of the clan when she visits them with Orry, her lover. This was a period before the clan became one of the great houses of the Imperium, though they still resided on Caladan, and were held in high regard due to the role a family member played in the war against the thinking machines.

Albert becomes the sole member to have survived the Atreides family massacre. On Valya’s orders, Tula kills almost all members of the Atreides clan including Orry, but lets Albert leave after discovering that he is alive. Barnes’ character is identified as Albert in the episode credits. It is unclear what his relation to Chris Mason’s Keiran Atreides is.
