On November 5, Paul Rudd went to Villanova University to give away water bottles and snacks to the voting students. The actor went around carrying a case of water bottles, passing them to voters who had been standing in line for hours.

When asked why he suddenly decided to visit the university, Rudd told AKSM Media Senior White House producer Ryan Hartnett, “Because it’s a lot of people waiting in line for a long time to vote and some of them might be thirsty so we brought a bunch of water.” He also told NBC News correspondent Jacob Soboroff that it is “a wonderful thing that all these young people are out voting.”

Paul Rudd’s surprise appearance at Villanova University on Election Day wasn’t on anyone’s cards. So many voting students were left pleasantly surprised as he handed out snacks and water to them. He also paid a visit to the voters at Temple University’s polling station, boosting spirits in several locations across Pennsylvania.

Voters had to wait for over two hours in many polling locations across Philadelphia, so Rudd’s kind gesture came as a much-needed relief. The actor took the opportunity to thank them for taking time out of their busy schedules to cast their votes. He told the Philadelphia Inquirer that he simply wanted to let them know that they were doing “really great things.”
