Ciara rocks Naomi Campbell’s runway look for spooky season
On October 29, Ciara took to Instagram to showcase her Halloween outfit for this year. The singer rocked Naomi Campbell’s runway look, reviving the iconic catsuit. According to W Magazine, Campbell donned the look for Azzedine Alaïa’s Fall Winter 1991-1992 runway show. Ciara’s look mirrored the archival look even to its most intricate details.
Meanwhile, the iconic catsuit belonged to the late Paris-based designer’s Fall 1991 Ready to Wear collection. It featured sheer fabric with strategically placed velvet cutouts, including a turtleneck and a pair of bikini briefs. Furthermore, the see-through sleeves featured ruffled fringes, with the rhythmic patterns in the fabric adding more structure to the ensemble.
Ciara was successful in nailing the recreation, including the matching beret that placed itself elegantly on one side. The singer even shared Campbell’s look from the archives alongside her interpretation of the look on Instagram.
Fashion stylist Deonte Nash, who assembled Ciara’s look, shared more details about the same. The team procured the catsuit from Fleur du Mal, the lingerie and ready-to-wear brand. Rancho Tailors created the custom look for the singer. Celebrity makeup artist Yolonda Frederick gave Ciara the dark Halloween-worthy makeup that highlighted her cheekbones. Additionally, Emmy award-winning hair artist Kiyah Wright is to be credited for the singer’s long straightened tresses.
Meanwhile, fans flooded the comments section to approve of her Halloween look. They also complemented the style team’s effort to nail a detailed recreation.
