Former New York City doctor Darius Paduch has had nearly 150 male patients filing lawsuits against him. Paduch, a urologist, exploited 310 men, making it the case involving the largest number of male victims, with victims reportedly ranging from retirees to minors.
Darius Paduch’s arrest came in April 2023, followed by a conviction earlier this year in May on 13 counts of sexual abuse. The disgraced doctor is yet to receive a sentence and faces up to 60 years in prison.
New York urologist Darius Paduch hit with more lawsuits
Convicted New York doctor Darius Paduch worked at various prestigious institutions for years, earning a reputation that enabled his sex crimes. The former urologist worked at the Weill Cornell Medical Center, New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University, and Northwell Health Systems. Court papers revealed that Paduch “exploited more male patients than any predator in history.” The filings claim these “thousands” of patients are “victims and survivors,” ranging from retirees to minors.
A plaintiff lawyer named Anthony T. DiPietro told the New York Post that NYC doctor Darius Paduch’s patients trusted these “top hospitals” for “safe and proper medical care for deeply personal conditions.” Instead, they faced harrowing sexual abuse experiences at the hands of the renowned New York City doctor. Many of his former male patients described their respective encounters with the predator, with 143 filing lawsuits against him.
Documents reveal that some male patients claimed that the NYC doctor forced long-lasting erections by injecting a serum into their penises. Other times, he performed penis enlargement procedures disfiguring their genitalia and also conducted cystoscopies, where a tube is inserted through the urethra, without using anesthesia. Other incidents reportedly include him forcing some patients to get on all fours to conduct tests.
Darius Paduch’s sex crimes as a New York City doctor continued until his arrest last year. Plaintiff lawyer Anthony T. DiPietro is currently representing 300 men who are suing Paduch for his crimes. Last August, DiPietro filed a massive civil class-action lawsuit against the disgraced doctor.
