Watch the New Trailer for Rob Zombie’s ‘The Munsters’ (Is It So Bad It’s Good or Just Plain Terrible?)

Who better to make The Munsters movie than a dude named Rob Zombie? Surely you know the director for his horror films like House of 1,000 Corpses, the Halloween remakes, and The Devil’s Rejects. Now, you’ll get to see what he can do as a director, producer, and screenwriter for the sitcom’s adaptation.

The Munsters movie features a talented cast that includes Zombie’s own wife Sheri Moon Zombie (Lily Munster), Richard Brake (Dr. Henry Augustus Wolfgang), Jeff Daniel Phillips (Herman Munster), and Daniel Roebuck (Grandpa Munster), among others.

The reboot appears to take a prequel approach to the ’60s-era TV series about a family of monsters that moves from Transylvania to an American suburb. The bad news? Lily and Herman’s son Eddie as well as teenage niece Marilyn will not appear onscreen (because, presumably, they didn’t exist). The good news: a recently-released trailer promises a wacky, technicolor comedy with first-class makeup.

It’s touted as “the greatest love story ever told.” We don’t know if that will pan out and we don’t have any more details, but Twitter has been buzzing with its takes on the yet-to-be-released film.

Will it be so bad it’s good? Or just plain terrible? You’ll have to wait and see when The Munsters drops in September.
