Lions for Lambs, Tom Cruise’s new movie about the Iraq war, has bombed at the box office, earning only $6.7 million on it’s opening weekend. The movie, which stars Robert Redford and Meryl Streep, is the first release of United Artists, a film studio which is run by Cruise and his producing partner, Paula Wagner. Us Magazine reports:
Tom Cruise’s latest flick got stung at the box office. Literally. His war-on-terror thriller ranked No. 4 with a tepid $6.7 million, getting beat by the Jerry Seinfeld toon Bee Movie, which netted $26 million.”
You have to try really hard to fuck up a movie with Meryl Streep and Robert Redford, but if anybody could do it, it’s Tom Cruise. His fanatical allegiance to Scientology and his idiotic ramblings in interviews have completely ruined his movie career, and whatever power he had in Hollywood is now pretty much gone. In five years, you’d have a better chance to strike box office gold with a horse named “Tom Cruise” than with the actual Tom Cruise.
