You can’t be a gymnast forever. Well, at least you can’t make a living off it forever, so it is no surprise that Kira Dikhtyar decided to take the modeling route when she noticed her gymnast career was over.
The New York-based, 29-year-old model, who is originally from Moscow, Russia, was part of the Moscow gymnast team when she was 11, and part of the Russian Junior National Team when she was 13. She won many medals, including gold meals in international competitions. But fast forward more than 15 years laters and Kira is now wowing folks with her modeling shoots.
According to FHM, Kira has worked for several magazines like Elle, Vogue and Palm Beach. She’s also worked with TV companies like Fox, MTV and BBC, so it’s clear everyone wants to work with this hottie. And it’s not just looks for Kira as she also has a Master of Sports degree. Looks and brains!
Kira also got a bit candid with FHM. Here’s the ups and downs of being a model, according to Kira herself.
“The great thing is that you actually get a chance to work with absolutely incredible people, travel all over the world and, of course, it’s a huge pleasure to see the result of your work; the amazing images! The worst part could be that you usually shoot summer collections in winter during the freezing cold, and then winter clothes during the summer. Also, modeling is very hard, physical work. It takes lots of passion and discipline.”
