Once every four years, Americans get together and pretend to like soccer as they cheer on the United States menâs soccer team. But unfortunately the US team wonât be in Russia for the World Cup in 2018 after their awful loss last night to Trinidad and Tobago.
The USMNT wonât be part of the World Cup for the first time since 1986, and people are chiming in wondering how this will effect the growth of this game in this country. Well hereâs a hint: it will continue to crash and burn because itâs one boring sport â so boring that sometimes a paper airplane is more interesting.
But while US soccer fans may have been mourning, the rest of the internet was laughing at their soccer team. Check out some of the most hilarious responses.
