The Miami Marlins have about 20,000 people showing up to their games now. Better than the putrid 2,000 turnout that’s occurred earlier in the season. The reason? Giancarlo Stanton.
The Marlins outfielder is a man on fire right now, hitting home runs in six straight games. This is his latest — a 432 foot bomb that had an exit velocity of 107 miles per hour.

Sure, an MLB-leading 44 home runs is impressive. But why is it relevant? Because he’s on pace to hit 60 home runs — something only two men without steroids have ever done: Roger Maris and Babe Ruth.
Also to note, Stanton has hit 23 homers in his last 35 games. He also has more homers since July 5 than the entire San Francisco Giants team.
