There’s a lot to see at this weekend’s Bonnaroo 2017 Music and Arts Festival (which Crave will be streaming live via Red Bull TV) so don’t sleep, both literally and figuratively, on these five fab music artists in this Bonnaroo preview.
Mondo Cozmo
Mondo Cozmo’s frontman Josh Ostrander is the kind of rockstar that guys imagine themselves being if they would’ve stuck with their guitar lessons and girls want to do bad things to. Although he looks like Adam Levine’s doppleganger, he leads a rough and tumble band with straightforward rock ‘n roll tunes that run the gamut from electrified Bob Dylan to ’90s Brit bands such as Oasis and the Verve.
Appearing Thu, June 8 at 9pm (CDT)
James Vincent McMorrow
The Irish singer/songwriter should feel right at home at Great Stage Park in Tennessee. His down home songs are rooted in indie-folk but has vintage R&B inspired with touches of hip-hop flair and downtempo electronic grooves.
Appearing Fri, June 9 at 7:15pm (CDT)
Stick Figure
Started as a one-man band project by Scott Woodruff in Massachusetts, this reggae outfit has evolved into a touring tour-de-four-piece. Known for their slow-burning, psychedelic-laced ditties, Stick Figure chases waves and grooves across the world, picking diehard fans along the way.
Appearing Fri, June 9 at 8:15pm (CDT)
Big Gigantic
Don’t ever threaten Big Gigantic with a good time because they will always deliver a dance party with their spirited “livetronica” that seems to be the “new” thing in EDM, but which they’ve perfected since their days back in Colorado.
Appearing Sat, June 10 at 12:15am (CDT)
BADBADNOTGOOD
Onstage BADBADNOTGOOD might look like just some art-school hipsters from Canada, but in reality these four-piece jazz maestros have become the de facto hip hop house band who have collaborated with Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, and Tyler the Creator, to name a few.
Appearing Sun, June 11 at 10:00pm (CDT)
