At least four people are dead and a dozen are injured after a nightclub shooting late last night at BPM Festival, an electronic dance music event in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
There are multiple reports coming out about the details, but in an official statement on the BPM Facebook page, organizers confirmed that four people had been killed, “including three members of the BPM security team,” and 12 people were injured.
The tragedy took place during an event at the Blue Parrot club on the closing night of the 10-day festival’s ten year anniversary party. BPM is a popular, beachside music festival for electronic music fans from Europe, Australia and the United States.
One of the DJs on the bill, Jackmaster, tweeted about the shooting shortly after it happened.
