Cut Copy haven’t released a new album since 2013’s well-received Free Your Mind, but the Australian electronic band have been keeping busy with a world tour, DJ appearances and now a 44-minute ambient instrumental piece dubbed the January Tape.
Originally released on September 30 as a limited-edition cassette tape, January Tape is now available as a digital download. Check out a teaser video, “January Trip”, directed by Glen Goetze and edited by Brendan MacLeod.
The trippy, Terrence Malick-esque music video takes from several parts of the tape, evoking the lush, cinematic and disparate moods in the music via split screen themed imagery, both man-made and elemental in origin.
