Two of Gardner Fox’s greatest creations are about to team up…possibly for the last time!
This week, writer Marc Andreyko and Aaron Lopresti are joining forces for a new event miniseries that may be the end for its title character: The Death of Hawkman. But the heroic alter ego of Katar Hol isn’t the only one in trouble. He’s joined by his ally, Adam Strange on a nightmarish version of Rann that could lead to an interstellar war on a staggering scale. Unfortunately for our heroes, they’re short on both time and allies.
In CraveOnline’s exclusive preview for The Death of Hawkman # 1, Hawkman may want to rethink the whole shirtless body armor thing as Strange begins to recount how he got into this mess.
For this series, Andreyko and Lopresti are joined by Livesay on inks, and Blond on colors. Here’s DC’s solicitation text for the issue:
“Residing on Earth and out of the hero game, Adam Strange finds himself trying to live a “normal” life, until he’s literally pulled back into adventure again when a seemingly normal Zeta beam transmission returns him to the planet Rann, where he hopes to be reunited with his beloved Alanna. But instead he finds the once-great city of Ranagar in ruins, with millions dead, and the once peaceful Alanna is now calling for the blood of Rann’s oldest enemy, Thanagar, home of the Hawkmen. Sensing something is amiss, Strange finds an ally in Hawkman, who also is trying anything possible to avert war. Don’t miss the start of this sensational new six-issue miniseries!”
The Death of Hawkman # 1 will be released on Wednesday, October 5.
