We’re assuming the diamond she stole didn’t shine as bright as this one after they pulled it out.
According to The Independent, a Chinese woman who recently visited a jewelry fair in Bangkok was arrested after doctors removed a stolen six-carat diamond worth $278,000 from, well, let’s just say the tip of her large intestine.
The woman and her male companion were stopped by authorities at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport after surveillance video from the fair showed the duo swapping the real diamond with a fake one after asking to inspect it. She then either swallowed it or more likely shoved it up her ass in an effort to smuggle it out of the country.
After initially denying any involvement in the theft, the woman finally confessed to the crime after X-rays revealed a “diamond-like object” in her colon. Doctors warned her it could tear up her insides, so she agreed to poop it out.
But when laxatives didn’t work, doctors were forced to go with Plan B: a colonoscope and the “medical equivalent to pliers.” The diamond’s owner then identified the stone, but, unfortunately for him, that means he’s now the proud owner of a $278,000 stone of gross.
