Watch This Illinois State Trooper Change His Tune Once He Finds Out He’s Being Recorded

Brian Miner just lived the American dream.

Miner was driving his big rig through the state of Illinois recently when he noticed a state trooper who was allegedly speeding and using his cellphone while the roads were wet. To show his disapproval of the trooper’s actions, he honked his horn.

That irked the trooper something fierce, and moments later, Miner found himself pulled over on the side of the highway and answering questions as to why he honked his horn. To Miner’s credit, he stuck to his guns and let the officer know exactly how he felt about him using his cellphone and speeding in somewhat dangerous conditions.

But the trooper was having none of it, telling Miner it was OK for officers to use technology while driving, and he even threatened to issue Miner a ticket for unlawful use of horn. It’s funny how the phrase “By the way, you are being recorded” quickly turned things in Miner’s favor, though (especially when the officer returns to the truck at the 2:52 mark).

“And that’s what happens when they know you’re recording.”
