Ad Campaign Encourages Citizens of Denmark to Have More Sex

With Denmark’s birthrate at a 27-year low, a Danish travel company is stepping up to the plate in an effort to increase the country’s population.

According to UPI, a recent ad campaign entitled “Do it for Denmark!” is encouraging Danish couples to take a vacation and literally “do it” to save the country. Although, we’re assuming that one of the reasons they are in such dire straits in the first place is that most of the women in Denmark don’t look like the one from the ad:

Spies Rejser is the travel company behind the campaign, and they are offering “ovulation discounts” to those who can prove they booked a vacation and then got knocked up while they were on it. Once the child is born, they can win a three-year supply of baby supplies as well as a kid-friendly vacation.

According to their research, people in Denmark have 46 percent more sex while on vacation and 10 percent of their babies are conceived while the couples are traveling. But if they really want to increase the Danish population, a better way might be by increasing the price of condoms to somewhere around 50 bucks a pop.

At any rate, the two-minute commercial is quite amusing, with a well-placed Eiffel Tower and a gay joke toward the end for some reason. I don’t know, maybe that’s how all Danish commercials sign off.
