‘The Simpsons’ Predicted a Seahawks-Broncos Super Bowl

And they did it all the way back in 2005.

“The Simpsons” have been on the air for 25 years and 550+ episodes, and during that time they have predicted the future on several occasions, but when the TV series’ prediction involves something as big as the Super Bowl, people pay a little more attention:

As you can see from the photo from @TheSimpsons‘ Twitter account, the show predicted a Denver-Seattle Super Bowl with the Broncos beating the Seahawks 19-14. This shot is from a 2005 episode titled “Bonfire of the Manatees,” in which Homer bets big on the game and loses. What’s even funnier is that Homer owns the Denver Broncos, because in an episode in 1996 Hank Scorpio bought them for him. So he bet against his own team!

Obviously, “The Simpsons” aren’t always right with their forecasting of the future, but it will be interesting to see if they get this one correct. If not, perhaps we should follow Eli the Ape instead.
