Recently, it seems people have been getting up in arms over an issue that seems downright hypocritical to us. While we here at Mandatory don’t want to come off in any way misogynistic, nor condone overt sexuality or nudity for the sheer sake of it, where has all the outcry been up until this point? That’s not to say we disagree that the excess skin shown by Alice Eve in Star Trek: Into Darkness and Famke Janssen in The Wolverine could have easily been sidestepped within the contents of the plot — or even that we don’t find it pretty awesome most of the time — but we just wonder why the following list of other such instances in film never really raised the same eyebrows.
In case you were wondering, yes, we did think of all of these examples off the top of our heads in a matter of minutes. That’s because the sheer amount is staggering. We’ll leave it up to you to judge from there whether or not scenes like this are needed beyond simply to grab one’s attention in the trailers.
