Here’s A Dating App Where You Can Swipe Based On Music Taste

If you’ve ever gone on a date with someone only to find out that you have absolutely zero musical taste in common with them, your days of frustration may be at an end.

One of the fastest growing dating apps, the female-led Bumble has announced that it is partnering up with Spotify to give users the option of connecting their dating profile with their Spotify account.

Bumble has been marketed as an app that is almost identical to Tinder, with the twist that only female-identifying users are allowed to send the first message, with 5.5 million users already signed up. Note that either person in a same-sex match can send the first message. If a conversation doesn’t start within the first 24 hours of a match, it disappears.

Once connected, users can view other users’ top artists based on who they most listen to, with links included that will take them to the Spotify profile of that artist. “Music says a lot about who we are as people and connecting culturally can serve a foundation for creating meaningful relationships”  Bumble founder and CEO Whitney Wolfe told TechCrunch.

“This integration not only gives Bumble users a peek into the music preferences of their potential connection, but also provides an easy conversation starter,” Spotify said in its announcement.

The new feature will roll out over the next few weeks. BRB, updating all my Spotify playlists.
